Trisha Yearwood

One of the highest-selling female artists in Country music history, and now a two-time New York Times Bestselling cookbook author, Trisha Yearwood has a habit of surpassing expectations. Case in point – while a student at Belmont University in Nashville, Trisha Yearwood worked as a tour guide at the Country Music Hall of Fame…10 million albums later, she now sits on the board.

Since her 1991 debut, Yearwood has recorded twelve albums, the most recent of which is “Heaven, Heartache And the Power of Love.” The album earned her a 2008 Grammy nomination and caps off a hit-list of nine #1 songs and twenty Top Ten hits under her belt, including “She’s in Love With the Boy,” “Walkaway Joe,” and “How Do I Live.”

Recently, in an unexpected twist, Trisha turned her favorite hobby – cooking – into a family project by collaborating with her mom Gwen and sister Beth on two hugely successful cookbooks full of anecdotes, family recipes and photos from the Yearwood clan. The first was “Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen,” which debuted on the New York Times Bestseller list in April 2008, where it remained for five weeks, then returned again in September 2008 as Trisha appeared on the cover of Redbook Magazine. Her second effort, “Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood,” was a return to form in April 2010, featuring heartwarming stories and hearty comfort food recipes. Amidst a blitz of media appearances, her second turn as a Redbook Magazine cover girl in two years and a cross-country book tour, Trisha celebrated another debut on the New York Times Bestseller list when Home Cooking hit the chart and remained for six weeks running.

In addition to three Grammy Awards, the Grand Ole Opry member is a three-time Country Music Award winner and a two-time Academy of Country Music Award winner. She has been honored with an American Music Award, a Pollstar Concert Industry Award and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2000. She has performed at the Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, at the White House during President Bill Clinton’s inauguration and in Italy with Luciano Pavarotti at the Maestro’s request. She has performed the National Anthem at both the 2007 World Series and the 2008 Daytona 500. Her achievements as a performer and author, and her down to earth nature, sense of humor and commitment to family have been the subject of recent cover features in Redbook Magazine (September 2008), Good Housekeeping (September 2009) and again in Redbook Magazine (April 2010). Trisha Yearwood is the national spokesperson for Campbell’s Labels For Education Program in partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation

I love Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks! I love country music and I love to cook for my family. I am so excited about Trisha’s new show. I caught the new show today and it was great! I have an 11 – year old son and I love learning new recipes for him. We are a foodie family! ha ha As a single mom I am on a tight budget but I try to cook meals that are not only fun but also yummy! I am looking forward to future shows, I told my ex-husband that I am about to turn 50 and I never do anything for my birthday but if he would please buy me Trisha’s cookbook! I have never made fried chicken in my life and I love fried chicken and my mom made the best fried chicken, she passed away last summer. Sincerely,a country gal!

Have a question. I friend of mine told me she saw Trisha in concert with Alan Jackson in Erie, PA back in the 90′s. I recall her touring Garth Brooks in that area at that time. Who is right?

  6. Ellen Vosler says:

I was really presently surprised when I watched Trisha’s show on Food Network. She was very casual & acted like she’d been doing a cooking show for years. Those types of shows are difficult & I was impressed with Trisha. I will definitely watch her Food Network show in the future!

  7. Bonnie Hanchett says:

Tricia, I saw you this morning on Access Hollywood and I loved your Vidalia onion recipe! And I will try it. My family is from Alabama/Georgia, and I live for when I can get Vidalias! You are so tall! (Being on the little bit side – 4’10″) How tall are you?

  8. Merle McDaniel says:

Dear Trisha, I am happy to see your cooking show. I was particularly interested when Beth came on, the Kyle a few shows later. I was the director of the Martin First United Methodist Preschool in Martin, TN when Kyle was a little boy. He was such a sweet little boy, as was your sister Beth. I remember when Beth said she and the family were moving to be with you. At the time, I did not even know she was your sister. Please tell Beth and Kyle hello for me. I am so proud and pleased to see them both on your fantastic show. Merle McDaniel

    Dear Trisha,

Love the show on Food Network!
I would like to thank you for sharing your Mamas fried chicken and gravy recipes.
Growing up my mother always made fried chicken and gravy, for some unknown reason I could not make it. In October of 2011 my mother was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, I am presently taking care of her in my home and making her as comfortable as I can. I watched the show on Sunday July 15th, 2012.
Image my surprise as I watched you prepare food for your friend from LA!
I was so inspired I decided to make fried chicken and gravy and mashed potatoes for my Mother. You are so amazing, because of you I fried chicken and made gravy for the first time, I surprised myself (lol)! The truth be known I could not fry chicken or make gravy that was edible! The outcome was awesome the chicken and gravy was consumed and my Mother was pleased!
    Thank You for teaching me!
    Sincerely,
    Connie Stout

Hi Just a quick note really to say that both myself and my late wife Claire are huge fans and your song You’re Where I Belong was played when Claire walked down the Aisle in 2008 on our wedding day and also in July this year at her Funeral. Claire was my soul mate and my world and your song became OUR song. Personally between you and your Husband my home and car always seems to resound to country. Keep making music because it does touch peoples lives in ways you can’t imagine. Before she heard you sing Claire tolerated my Love of Garth’s music but from the first time i played you she was hooked. So thank you for bringing me and Claire even closer …Richard Rourke U.K

  20. Hi There!! I am inquiring about a possible in-kind donation for an upcoming fundraiser for the Central California Blood Center. Our fundraiser is coming up in March 2013 and we would like to request a possible donation of an autographed cookbook and/or CD. Our cowgirls love and admire Mrs. Yearwood, so we think an autographed item from her would be the HIGHLIGHT of the event! Our event is called “Cowgirl U” and is a day for 400 cowgirls to get together to shop, laugh, eat, drink and enjoy live music while being catered to by some amazing cowboys. We will have a fabulous cowgirl lunch, cowboys to meet and wonderful local cowboys serving “cowgirl beverages” all afternoon. Returning again will be PBR cowboys, great entertainment, live and silent auctions, a fashion show, and as always, some fun surprises. Should you need it our Tax ID# is 94-6024540. Thank you for your kind consideration. I look forward to hearing from you or the person who handles your in-kind donations.

I am lifting you up to the Lord in prayer as you spend your first Christmas without your Mama. God truly has you on my heart. When I pulled out your recipe book to find crockpot candy, I ran across the picture of you and your Mama holding hands. I had a good cry. Your Mama was so sweet and kind, and she had more grace in her little pinkie than I have in my whole body! I pray God’s blessings on you as I know your heart is heavy.

You mentioned that your grandmother was a Paulk from South Georgia. My grandmother was also a Paulk and was from South Georgia. Your family cooks and talks like mine did when I was a little girl and I always love watching because it brings back the sweetest memories of my granny. Thank you for your show!

  46. Buy says:

I have already been searching on-line over Three hours nowadays, even so under no circumstances observed virtually any attention-grabbing document such as yours. It’s beautiful price ample personally. In my opinion, in the event that all site owners and also writers produced superb content material just like you probably would, online can be quite a lot more valuable than previously.

  47. Ginger says:

When is Trisha going to be making some new cooking shows. I have watched the current ones three to four times.
Really enjoy the show. Otherwise why would I watch the same show so many times.

  48. Lawrence Frost says:

    Good morning, Ms. Trisha.
I am such a fan of yours and your show. You make cooking look so easy and I have tried some of your recipes and found them to be absolutely delicious. I am a diabetic with all its many complications and at present, seem to be losing some of my eyesight. I try to make most of my meals fit within what I am allowed to eat, but my treat, once a week, is to recreate one of your meals. I look forward to that one meal all week..LOL I was wondering if you could send me a personalized autographed photo. I collect personalized autographed photos of my favorite chefs, frame them, and hang them in my breakfast room. Each morning, I am surrounded by my friends and idols. I do not get out much anymore, so my photos are very special to me. I am turning 65 tomorrow and what a gift it would be to have a photo of you. I would love to meet you one day. I keep you and your lovely family in my daily prayers. I wish you all the best and much success. Tonight, sleep with the angels. Lawrence

  51. Kim says:

Trisha, I really enjoy your cooking show. It brings back wonderful memories cooking with my Grandmother (missing her). I appreciate how you incorporate your personal family memories and humor in your show. Your love of God, family and cooking really comes through. You are a great inspiration!

  52. Andrea W. says:

My husband and I have always been big fans of both Tricia and Garth so when we found out she had a cooking show, we had to watch it! We both love to cook (and listen to music together when we do) but, we just recently had a very nasty kitchen fire. Thankfully, and luckily, the majority of the damage was confined to the back wall with our appliances and dining table.

We’re in the process of saving up money to rebuild right now and repair the smoke damage. I’m wondering if I could find out what the colors, brands and model numbers are of the kitchen appliances that Tricia uses? I always love seeing them on her show and am curious where she purchased all of her kitchenware.

Thank you so much and keep on cooking!
