Trisha Yearwood

One of the highest-selling female artists in Country music history, and now a two-time New York Times Bestselling cookbook author, Trisha Yearwood has a habit of surpassing expectations. Case in point – while a student at Belmont University in Nashville, Trisha Yearwood worked as a tour guide at the Country Music Hall of Fame…10 million albums later, she now sits on the board.

Since her 1991 debut, Yearwood has recorded twelve albums, the most recent of which is “Heaven, Heartache And the Power of Love.” The album earned her a 2008 Grammy nomination and caps off a hit-list of nine #1 songs and twenty Top Ten hits under her belt, including “She’s in Love With the Boy,” “Walkaway Joe,” and “How Do I Live.”

Recently, in an unexpected twist, Trisha turned her favorite hobby – cooking – into a family project by collaborating with her mom Gwen and sister Beth on two hugely successful cookbooks full of anecdotes, family recipes and photos from the Yearwood clan. The first was “Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen,” which debuted on the New York Times Bestseller list in April 2008, where it remained for five weeks, then returned again in September 2008 as Trisha appeared on the cover of Redbook Magazine. Her second effort, “Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood,” was a return to form in April 2010, featuring heartwarming stories and hearty comfort food recipes. Amidst a blitz of media appearances, her second turn as a Redbook Magazine cover girl in two years and a cross-country book tour, Trisha celebrated another debut on the New York Times Bestseller list when Home Cooking hit the chart and remained for six weeks running.

In addition to three Grammy Awards, the Grand Ole Opry member is a three-time Country Music Award winner and a two-time Academy of Country Music Award winner. She has been honored with an American Music Award, a Pollstar Concert Industry Award and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2000. She has performed at the Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, at the White House during President Bill Clinton’s inauguration and in Italy with Luciano Pavarotti at the Maestro’s request. She has performed the National Anthem at both the 2007 World Series and the 2008 Daytona 500. Her achievements as a performer and author, and her down to earth nature, sense of humor and commitment to family have been the subject of recent cover features in Redbook Magazine (September 2008), Good Housekeeping (September 2009) and again in Redbook Magazine (April 2010). Trisha Yearwood is the national spokesperson for Campbell’s Labels For Education Program in partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation

I love Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks! I love country music and I love to cook for my family. I am so excited about Trisha’s new show. I caught the new show today and it was great! I have an 11 – year old son and I love learning new recipes for him. We are a foodie family! ha ha As a single mom I am on a tight budget but I try to cook meals that are not only fun but also yummy! I am looking forward to future shows, I told my ex-husband that I am about to turn 50 and I never do anything for my birthday but if he would please buy me Trisha’s cookbook! I have never made fried chicken in my life and I love fried chicken and my mom made the best fried chicken, she passed away last summer. Sincerely,a country gal!

Have a question. I friend of mine told me she saw Trisha in concert with Alan Jackson in Erie, PA back in the 90’s. I recall her touring Garth Brooks in that area at that time. Who is right?

I was really presently surprised when I watched Trisha’s show on Food Network. She was very casual & acted like she’d been doing a cooking show for years. Those types of shows are difficult & I was impressed with Trisha. I will definitely watch her Food Network show in the future!

Tricia, I saw you this morning on Access Hollywood and I loved your Vidalia onion recipe! And I will try it. My family is from Alabama/Georgia, and I live for when I can get Vidalias! You are so tall! (Being on the little bit side – 4’10”) How tall are you?

Dear Trisha, I am happy to see your cooking show. I was particularly interested when Beth came on, the Kyle a few shows later. I was the director of the Martin First United Methodist Preschool in Martin, TN when Kyle was a little boy. He was such a sweet little boy, as was your sister Beth. I remember when Beth said she and the family were moving to be with you. At the time, I did not even know she was your sister. Please tell Beth and Kyle hello for me. I am so proud and pleased to see them both on your fantastic show. Merle McDaniel

    Dear Trisha,

Love the show on Food Network!
I would like to thank you for sharing your Mamas fried chicken and gravy recipes.
Growing up my mother always made fried chicken and gravy, for some unknown reason I could not make it. In October of 2011 my mother was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, I am presently taking care of her in my home and making her as comfortable as I can. I watched the show on Sunday July 15th, 2012.
Image my surprise as I watched you prepare food for your friend from LA!
I was so inspired I decided to make fried chicken and gravy and mashed potatoes for my Mother. You are so amazing, because of you I fried chicken and made gravy for the first time, I surprised myself (lol)! The truth be known I could not fry chicken or make gravy that was edible! The outcome was awesome the chicken and gravy was consumed and my Mother was pleased!
    Thank You for teaching me!

I can still remember the first time I heard you sing. What a knock out voice. The show made our Anniversary one to remember.

Hope to catch your show one Saturday when the boys are at Boy Scout Camp. Ahhhh time to myself. Anyway thanks for you part of making our Anniversary Very Special.

Hi Just a quick note really to say that both myself and my late wife Claire are huge fans and your song You’re Where I Belong was played when Claire walked down the Aisle in 2008 on our wedding day and also in July this year at her Funeral. Claire was my soul mate and my world and your song became OUR song. Personally between you and your Husband my home and car always seems to resound to country. Keep making music because it does touch peoples lives in ways you can’t imagine. Before she heard you sing Claire tolerated my Love of Garth’s music but from the first time i played you she was hooked. So thank you for bringing me and Claire even closer …Richard Rourke U.K

Hi There!! I am inquiring about a possible in-kind donation for an upcoming fundraiser for the Central California Blood Center. Our fundraiser is coming up in March 2013 and we would like to request a possible donation of an autographed cookbook and/or CD. Our cowgirls love and admire Mrs. Yearwood, so we think an autographed item from her would be the HIGHLIGHT of the event! Our event is called “Cowgirl U” and is a day for 400 cowgirls to get together to shop, laugh, eat, drink and enjoy live music while being catered to by some amazing cowboys. We will have a fabulous cowgirl lunch, cowboys to meet and wonderful local cowboys serving “cowgirl beverages” all afternoon. Returning again will be PBR cowboys, great entertainment, live and silent auctions, a fashion show, and as always, some fun surprises. Should you need it our Tax ID# is 94-6024540. Thank you for your kind consideration. I look forward to hearing from you or the person who handles your in-kind donations.

I am lifting you up to the Lord in prayer as you spend your first Christmas without your Mama. God truly has you on my heart. When I pulled out your recipe book to find crockpot candy, I ran across the picture of you and your Mama holding hands. I had a good cry. Your Mama was so sweet and kind, and she had more grace in her little pinkie than I have in my whole body! I pray God’s blessings on you as I know your heart is heavy.

    Good morning, Ms. Trisha.
I am such a fan of yours and your show. You make cooking look so easy and I have tried some of your recipes and found them to be absolutely delicious. I am a diabetic with all its many complications and at present, seem to be losing some of my eyesight. I try to make most of my meals fit within what I am allowed to eat, but my treat, once a week, is to recreate one of your meals. I look forward to that one meal all week..LOL I was wondering if you could send me a personalized autographed photo. I collect personalized autographed photos of my favorite chefs, frame them, and hang them in my breakfast room. Each morning, I am surrounded by my friends and idols. I do not get out much anymore, so my photos are very special to me. I am turning 65 tomorrow and what a gift it would be to have a photo of you. I would love to meet you one day. I keep you and your lovely family in my daily prayers. I wish you all the best and much success. Tonight, sleep with the angels. Lawrence

My husband and I have always been big fans of both Tricia and Garth so when we found out she had a cooking show, we had to watch it! We both love to cook (and listen to music together when we do) but, we just recently had a very nasty kitchen fire. Thankfully, and luckily, the majority of the damage was confined to the back wall with our appliances and dining table.

We’re in the process of saving up money to rebuild right now and repair the smoke damage. I’m wondering if I could find out what the colors, brands and model numbers are of the kitchen appliances that Tricia uses? I always love seeing them on her show and am curious where she purchased all of her kitchenware.

Thank you so much and keep on cooking!

We reproduced your breakfast menu with the Sausage Breakfast Casserole (GCOK p. 89), Hash Brown Potato Casserole (GCOK p. 144), Pecan Pie Muffins. Everything was delicious! After reading some of the previous posts, I am humbled. My husband and I, do love you and Garth. Down home as it is meant to be. From rural Saskatchewan, we understand rural roots, and family. Love you two. Watching you and Garth live at the Wynn….it really dosen’t matter what country you are from…the memories are so similar HAHA!!! LOVE IT!!!

I just turned 50, Nov 25. Two grandsons 5 & 4. You know you are rural, when you have grandkids and you just turned …you know. and NO we are not hillbillies HAHA!!!! This is what it is all about. If you ever need to get away and be so incognito … Rural sask is the place to be. Remote cabin, quadding, fishing, hiking, canoeing, quiet time, wildlife (Moose, Elk, Deer), like you have only dreamt about. This isn’t even my place but I could refer you. It’s all about family here. Google, Saskatchewan, Canada, Broadview, Pipestone. Being from rural Sask. It truly is God’s country, i’m biases though…..if this interests you, I can give you info to check out….unfortunately you have to pay your own way here…we are not rich people, only real people.:)

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I am a huge fan. I was raised on your music and “How Do I Live” played a very significant role in my life. I was blessed to attend a Garth show in Nashville in 2012. I literally cried when you began to sing.
I say all this to say, Thank you. I am a singer/songwriter from Nashville and you are the reason I am who I am. Thank you.

Hey Trisha! I have been a fan of yours since I was a little girl. Music is my biggest passion and I was hoping that you could give a small town Georgia girl some advice on how to get into the music industry. Thanks for all that you do! 🙂

    Hi Trisha,

I have followed your career and love your music. I have a request. I am on the board of the Bedford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter in Everett, Pennsylvania. Typically we care for about 60 dogs and 70 cats on a daily basis. We operate solely on donations and fund raisers.

In May of 2014 we will be holding our annual walk for the animals and auction. Would you please consider donating an autographed DD or your cookbook for our auction? It would create excitement and be one of the top items of our auction.

If you can grant this request the merchandise can be sent to:
    The Bedford County Humane Society
    1108 Lutzville Road
    Everett, PA 15537

Thank you so much for a great show in Minnesota last night! My friend and I took advantage of the invite to fill the open seats in the front row and we absolutely loved singing along with you. You sound exactly as you did the first time I heard you on the radio back in the early 90s! Incredible! You are my favorite and again thank you for a great memory! We had the time of our life.

So glad to hear that you are going to be back in the studio making new music. You have always been my favorite singer. I love the not as popular songs as well as the big hits. My favorite will always be Real Live Woman. I’ve made my teenage daughters listen to it as well. Love the message. I saw you perform in Utah at Deer Valley with the Utah Symphony. Best concert ever. Your music in the mountains…I don’t know what could be better. Thanks for the years of music and memories and looking forward to new tunes.

    Gday Trisha,
Love all the great music, I have been looking around different music shops in Australia and online and can’t find any DVD’s of concerts or film clips. Have you put out a DVD of your music…… Also do you think you will ever get down under for a tour, maybe with Garth as a double act…. You would pack the stadiums out….

How wonderful that someone else likes mayo on butter beans. Butter beans are my favorite and I think my addiction goes back to my childhood in South Georgia when aliced tomatoes were always served with summer meals. The mayo blended with the butterbeans and I’ve eaten them that way since. I enjoy your Southern Kitchen show and recipes. Thank you. T.

I have a request. I have a friend at work who is going to yours and Garth’s concert next Friday, March 20th in Denver, CO. He lost his son about a year ago and has been having a really hard time with the anniversary. He loves your music, is there anyway he can meet you at the concert. I understand if it is not possible, but I thought I would ask. Thank you for your time.

I was looking around for contact information for Trisha’s fan club or organization and this page came up in my Google search. I see fanclub at Trishayearwood dot com, and also TYFC at Trishayearwood dot com – neither being a really recent post. Is either still correct?

There used to be somebody named Tammy who headed up annual charity donations in honor of Trisha – email Is she still around?

Also, this page came up in a Google search, but when I visited the main TrishaYeawood dot com page, I didn’t see a link that goes here, to the bio page.

    To Whom it May Concern,

I am reaching out to you on behalf of the Bayonne Cal Ripken league. We are hosting our Card Party fundraiser, September 23, 2016 and I am soliciting your organization in hopes you will be so generous to donate an item to our event. Our field is our second home to our families. Cal Ripken is tight community that pulls together to ensure our children have the best possible baseball experience we can offer them. Unfortunately during Hurricane Sandy, our field took a huge hit, the amount of damage endured was something we were not prepared for. Our baseball community pulled together and our parents donated money and their time to get the field back to the proper playing conditions for our children. The plans to expand parts of the field, additional teams and equipment were put aside until we were able to ensure the field would be able to remain open for the upcoming baseball seasons. We are now hoping to move forward with our plans to add more teams and equipment.

For many years our league has been known for their devotion and dedication to youth of Bayonne. We also have been known for giving back to our community. Bayonne Cal Ripken holds a yearly event, now in its 9th season, called “Make A Kid Smile”. This campaign aims to provide less fortunate children with Modell’s shopping sprees for Christmas. The idea for the campaign came when the organizer Mike Miselis, the league’s vice president, saw a group of children playing ball in November, without sweatshirts and only 1 ball and a beat up bat.

This year we are hoping that we could receive a helping hand to expand our field and equipment supply .Unfortunately, our budget is not adequate enough to cover the full amount needed for new additions. Our league prides itself in being a league where no child is turned away if their family cannot pay the fees. We try to keep the fees at nominal rate so all of our community can enjoy America’s favorite pastime.

With this being said, we are turning to the community to ask for support. If you could help us with a gift basket, gift card or a monetary donation it will be greatly appreciated. This is a great way to give back to the community, publicize your business and receive a tax break.

Thank you in advance for consideration and support.

Our EIN for tax deductions is 22-3553718
