TRISHA ZOOMS UP THE CMT CHART

Trisha Yearwood is watching her first up-tempo solo single in nine years quickly climb the charts, and for the two-time CMA Female Vocalist Of The Year, finding quality up-tempo songs is always a challenge: “I think it is harder for me to find up-tempo songs,” notes Trisha. “’Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love’ works, I think, because it still touches that nerve in people that makes them relate to the lyric, like a great ballad does, but it makes you want to dance along at the same time. I just think the song is fun.” The ‘fun’ song’s video jumps into the Top 10 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown next week.

Trisha Yearwood, "Babyface" Tape CMT Crossroads

Trisha Yearwood and singer, songwriter and producer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds taped a CMT Crossroads episode on Friday (Aug. 31) at Belmont University's Curb Event Center in Nashville.

Playing to a packed house for almost two hours, Yearwood and "Babyface" sang each other's songs together, told jokes and talked about their mutual admiration. Their song selections included Yearwood's current single "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love" and Edmonds' new single, a remake of James Taylor's "Fire and Rain." A LABOR OF LOVE

Most people don’t walk 60 miles on a typical weekend, but for Trisha Yearwood, her participation in last weekend’s Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in Chicago proved to be a labor of love. “Many of my fans know I have been training with several of my girlfriends for the past few months. Everyone knows someone who has battled cancer, so this seemed like the perfect way to show support for cancer research and push myself at the same time,” noted Trisha during an interview with US99/Chicago following the walk.  more
