I’d recently moved to Oklahoma when Garth Brooks popped the question. No, not that one. It would be a while before he got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of 7,000 people. This was a more private request, one that gave me goosebumps nonetheless.
“Honey,” he said one October night, “I’ve been thinking maybe we could do Thanksgiving with my family. What if I invited them over?”
“That sounds wonderful,” I said.
“One more thing,” he said. “Could you do the cooking? You know how to make everything, right?”

Country music star Garth Brooks announced Thursday morning he will hold a concert in December for victims affected by the May flood in Middle Tennessee. Trisha Yearwood was on hand at the press conference and will be performing at the December 17th show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The tickets will be $25.00. Further ticketing information will be announced Wednesday, Nov. 3 at noon Central. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. On October 7th, the USO will hold its annual USO Gala in Washington, DC to salute the U.S. Military and their families. Guests will include celebrities, military leadership, Washington dignitaries, and many more.
The event will recognize one service member from each branch of the U.S. military along with a special Spirit of the USO Award. Specials guests include host Bill Engvall and musical guest Trisha Yearwood. This year the show will be streamed live at military.com on October 7th at 8:30 PM ET.
